So French lawmakers are at it again with the performative stupidity, pushing to ban terms like "veggie burger" because they think consumers are too dumb to know the difference between plants and a cow. 🙄
Let’s get technical since they want to play word games: The word "meat" didn’t even originally mean animal flesh. It comes from the Old English "mete," which literally just meant "food" or the solid part of something (ever heard of "nut meat" or "the meat of the fruit"?). We define words by how we use them, not by some archaic gatekeeping logic.
Nobody is accidentally buying a black bean burger and crying because they missed out on the slaughterhouse experience. Stop pretending a label is the problem when the real issue is your outdated industry.
