Vegan wait what???
Many points are made as well as fallacies.
So let me break this down for you... Food is not heritage or culture. I don't care a flying f*** if you think your cultural traditions outweigh the greater impact on all life on earth. That's an Appeal to Tradition which is a type of logical fallacy in which something is accepted as true or better because it's the "way it's always been done."
Evidence is what is important, not traditional values. If we believed that I could justify just about anything that I wanted to.
The next point is this video was made in 2018 so I'll let there be some Nuance as they talk about grass-fed beef( which this YouTube channel itself has already discredited link below)
This video also fundamentally doesn't understand what Veganism is
The vegan society's defining term is what most vegans use to define themselves. as linked below is
In short to be vegan means to limit the suffering in all ways possible and feasible (within reason). Moreover to give moral consideration to all living beings. That's it. Nowhere does it say that the poor, and those who can't ( in conditions outside of our and their control) can't practice veganism. As long as people are trying. The issue is videos like these tell people in the suburbs life " see I do my best. I can't go vegan because we don't make that much money" when in reality most first-world countries can all go vegan. And if we're connecting this back to them over the climate change message. We are the ones who need to go vegan. Not for animals, not for health, for the planet which will snowball and tackle all previous issues mentioned.
The point is veganism is not just not eating meat or animal byproducts. That to me could better be summed up by more of just a plant-based diet.
To be vegan means you care about all life, this planet, and acknowledge that speciesism exists. And you have come to realize that we are not specifically put here to have dominion over this world but to live as part of it.
